After graduating with a Biochemistry Degree at Queen Mary University of London, Jennifer Kamikazi celebrated her achievement by perusing a career as a singer/songwriter. It can be said that a loss in one field, proved to be a delightful again to another. Jennifer was quickly embraced by numerous platforms across London, and made a smooth transition into the music world.

After gaining stage confidence, she wasted no time by delving into the studio to record her first EP ‘Wildflower’  with OL MUSIC in 2016. Jennifer's music was welcomed with open arms from folk/indie blogs such as Alex Rain Bird Music, Indie Folx and Indie Feed, triggering thousands of listeners across the globe. This sudden success is undoubtably due  to her  captivating and distinctive voice. The trademark of her sound is attributed to her soft vibrational tones, coupled with her purely refreshing and vulnerable song-lyrics. This is most clearly demonstrated in her Debut single ‘To The Brim’ which is currently shy of half a million streams on Spotify.

With roots spanning from East London to East Africa, her music is a blend of western soul/indie/folk - seasoned with Rwandan folk influence. Although a singer/songwriter in her own right, her music is said to resemble legendary singer Tracy Chapman, Laura Marling, and Ellie Goulding (vocally).

Her EP ‘Wildflower’ has kept thousands eager to hear more of what this unique flower has to offer.

Kamikazi continues to showcase her talent across London featuring on platforms such as Sofar Sounds, London Live Sessions and Ronnie Scott’s. This rare talent is one to watch, and most certainly one to be heard.
